Geocaching is an any day, anytime, scavenger hunt adventure that can take you to amazing and beautiful places. Maybe even to a place in your town you have never been before!
There are more than 2 million geocaches world wide, there are probably even some near you right now! You will need an Android or iPhone, then download the free Geocaching intro app and make your free account. You are now ready to go!
The way it works is simple, just choose the geocache you wish to find and navigate to its location. What you’re looking for varies.. Geocaches come in different sizes, shapes, and difficulties, but are never buried.
Geocaching isn’t always easy! So it is OK to get excited when you find it! Remember to sign your geocaching name on the log paper and trade nick-knacks if you want. When you’re done place the geocache back exactly how you found it, log your experience through the geocaching app and you will be on your way to the next one.
There is an adventure happening all the time, all around you.. Become a part of it!
- Carry a pen and tweezers.
- When it comes to nick-knacks swapping it is best to trade out for something of equal or greater value. Items in geocaches should be family friendly and should never contain money, food or fragrances.
- If you see an item with a tracking code, leave the item if you are unsure what to do with it. These are sentimental game pieces that players like yourself have invested time in.
